Former President Donald Trump is currently leading Vice President Kamala Harris in key swing states, according to recent polling data from InsiderAdvantage and the Trafalgar Group. The surveys for each state asked respondents the question: “If the election for president were held today, for whom would you vote.

In Pennsylvania, Trump holds a slim lead over Harris with 46% of support, compared to her 44. Another four percent of respondents from this swing state put their support behind independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., while five percent remain undecided.

Trump enjoys an even more substantial advantage in Nevada, leading Harris by three percentage points with 48% of support, compared to her 45. Three percent of respondents back Kennedy in this state, and only two percent remain undecided.

The largest lead for Trump comes from North Carolina, where he boasts a four-point advantage over Harris. In this swing state, Trump garners 49% of support, while Harris follows with 45. Three percent of respondents support Kennedy, and only two percent remain undecided on who they will vote for in the next election.

In contrast, Trump’s slimmest lead is found in Arizona, where he holds a mere one-point advantage over Harris. Here, Trump leads with 48% of support to her 47%, while three percent back Kennedy and two percent remain undecided on their vote.

Each survey was conducted between August 6th and 8th, 2024, and has a margin of error of +/- 2.9. These polls indicate that Trump may have an edge over Harris in key swing states leading up to the next election cycle.

As these surveys reveal Trump’s lead over Harris in several crucial battleground states, the former president also predicts that the vice president’s “honeymoon” period will soon come to an end. During a recent press conference, Trump stated: “Oh, it’s gonna end. The honeymoon period’s gonna end… Look, she’s got a little period. She’s got a convention coming up.

Trump went on to criticize Harris’s competence and record, stating that “everything she’s touched has turned bad.” He added: “She destroyed California. She destroyed San Francisco. Everything she’s touched has turned to bad things… I think she’s incompetent because I’ve watched her.

Notably, as of the time of this writing, Kamala Harris has yet to hold a press conference following the Democrat Party’s shakeup that designated her as their nominee without the direct input of voters.
