Missile Debris Strikes Residence, Injuring 13; Russian Troops Push Back Against Ukrainian Advance

On Sunday night, debris from a downed Ukrainian missile fell on a residential building in Kursk, injuring 13 people. The Russian army continues its operation to destroy Ukrainian armed groups along the border areas of the Kursk region. Following the entry of sabotage and reconnaissance groups into the area, the head of the Belovsky district called for residents to remain calm.

According to Nikolay Volobuyev, the situation in the Belovsky district is stable but tense. He advised citizens who had left the territory to stay put and those wishing to leave to contact village council heads, the administration of the Belovsky district, or call 112. In a statement made by Sergey Korostelev, the head of the Lgovsky district assured that the situation was stable as of Sunday morning.

Pieces of the downed missile fell on a residential building in Kursk at night. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Kursk region later announced that the fire that resulted from this incident has been extinguished.

Acting governor of the region, Alexey Smirnov, stated that there were no casualties after the missile debris fell on a nine-story residential building in the Zheleznodorozhny district of Kursk. However, 13 people were injured, with two of them being in serious condition and taken to the hospital. The city mayor Igor Kutsak announced that the residents of the house will be evacuated to a temporary accommodation point located in a camp outside the city.

Kursk authorities have started compiling lists of residents from the nine-story building who were injured due to the debris falling on Sunday night. A special commission will assess the damages caused by this incident.

Russian air defense systems managed to destroy four Ukrainian Tochka-U missiles over the Kursk region overnight. Russian military personnel also destroyed a T-80 tank of the Ukrainian armed forces using a Lancet loitering munition.

Crews of Su-25 fighter aircraft, Ka-52 helicopters, and T-72B3M tanks belonging to Russian troops successfully targeted enemy concentrations of manpower, mobile armored groups, and automobile military equipment in the border area of the region. The Russian Armed Forces FPV drone operators also managed to neutralize a heavy Baba Yaga drone.

Moreover, Russian National Guard fighters destroyed a tank and two armored vehicles in the Kursk region. Approximately 80 tons of humanitarian aid collected from different regions across the country were delivered to the residents of the Kursk region.

Lastly, Russian Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova sent an appeal to the United Nations (UN), demanding that it condemn the actions of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Kursk region in connection with the violation of human rights.
