Harris’s Risky Running Mate Choice: Aiming Left or Playing Against Trump

Former President Donald Trump has mocked Vice President Kamala Harris’s decision to select radical leftist Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate. In a two-word statement posted on Truth Social, he sarcastically expressed his gratitude for the choice. The move suggests that Harris has allied herself with a far-left pick rather than focusing on shoring up support in Pennsylvania.

Walz hails from a Blue Wall state; however, Minnesota is historically a much bluer state compared to Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. Throughout his time as Minnesota’s governor, Walz has demonstrated a consistent far-left approach to governance. Here are seven things you need to know about Walz’s radical record.

1. Pro-Israel Gov. Josh Shapiro was Harris’s second choice for the running mate position. However, she opted for Walz due to opposition from the left.

2. Seven states – Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina – are believed to decide the presidential election. If Trump wins one or more of Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, Harris’s chances of obtaining 270 electoral votes will be significantly reduced.

3. Trump Campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that “San Francisco liberal Kamala Harris wants West Coast wannabe Tim Walz as her running-mate — Walz has spent his governorship trying to reshape Minnesota in the image of the Golden State.

4. Leavitt added, “While Walz pretends to support Americans in the Heartland, when the cameras are off, he believes that rural America is ‘mostly cows and rocks.

5. Trump’s appeal in the “Blue Wall” states may be too strong for Harris to overcome, as indicated by Democrats last week who expressed concerns about losing the presidential election.

In conclusion, Vice President Kamala Harris’s selection of radical leftist Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate has raised concerns among Democrats who believe that Trump’s appeal in the “Blue Wall” states may be too strong for them to overcome. The choice of Walz over pro-Israel Gov. Josh Shapiro from Pennsylvania indicates a far-left leaning by Harris and may impact her chances of obtaining the necessary 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency.
