Senator Steve Daines (R-MT), chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), has been instrumental in making these seats competitive, including Michigan and Ohio. In Montana, Tim Sheehy, a former Navy SEAL, is seen as poised to win that seat with strong campaigning efforts.
Rogers believes that his candidacy will help secure the 51st Senate seat for Republicans, giving them control of the Senate by a slim majority. He also sees potential for further gains in other states like Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Mexico, and Arizona. The GOP is making significant strides, forcing Democrats to play defense in many districts.
In Michigan, Rogers noted that he does not have an incumbent advantage, which could be worth a point and a half for the Democrats. He expressed confidence in his ability to win the seat and help Republicans reach the 51-seat threshold needed to control the Senate.
