Russia’s defence ministry has claimed that its forces have destroyed a significant amount of Ukrainian weaponry and equipment in the past day. In a statement, the defence ministry said Russian troops had targeted and disabled an array of weapons systems, including multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), artillery systems, field ammunition depots and electronic warfare stations, among others. It also claimed that more than 365 Ukrainian soldiers were killed during this period.
According to the defence ministry, Russian forces have significantly improved their tactical positions in various areas and successfully repelled numerous counterattacks by Ukrainian forces. The defence ministry’s statement comes as Ukraine continues to receive significant amounts of weapons and military aid from its western allies. In particular, the US has supplied Ukraine with advanced weaponry such as HIMARS rocket systems, which have been used effectively by Ukrainian forces against Russian targets.
However, despite these losses, Russia’s defence ministry maintains that its forces are making significant gains in the ongoing conflict and continues to inflict heavy casualties on Ukrainian troops. The conflict shows no signs of abating, with both sides continuing to suffer significant losses as the fighting drags on.
