Olympian’s Quick Win Sparks Controversy: Trump Campaign Accuses Kamala

The Trump campaign has accused Vice President Kamala Harris of supporting an Olympic fighter who failed a gender test and subsequently defeated Italian boxer Angela Carini in just 46 seconds on Thursday. The accusation follows the introduction of new Title IX changes by the Biden-Harris administration, which allows males identifying as women to use locker rooms and other single-sex spaces, play girls’ sports or take advantage of opportunities like scholarships earmarked for females.

The Trump campaign statement, “Kamala Supports What Just Happened At The Olympics,” is a reference to the case of Italian boxer Angela Carini, who lost to opponent Imane Khelif, whom the Olympics cleared to compete despite failing a gender-eligibility test in 2023. The International Olympic Committee uses different criteria to determine eligibility and ruled Khelif eligible to compete.

IBA President Umar Kremlev explained his organization’s decision not to allow Khelif to compete in the 2023 championships, stating that DNA tests identified a number of athletes who tried to trick their colleagues into posing as women. Based on these tests, it was proved that they have XY chromosomes, and such athletes were excluded from competition.

Angela Carini told Italy’s ASNA that she had never taken a punch like the one she received from Imane Khelif and left the ring in tears. She stated that she got into the ring to fight but did not feel like it anymore after the first minute, as she started to feel strong pain in her nose. Despite this experience, Carini says she is leaving with her head held high.

Khelif will progress to the next round of the women’s 66-kilogram division. The Trump campaign criticizes Vice President Kamala Harris for supposedly supporting such cases and urges people to vote accordingly in light of these events.
