Kamala’s Shift: From Radical Progressive to Uncertain Future

Kamala Harris, the current Vice President of the United States, appears to be backpedaling on many policies she previously championed. This has raised concerns among voters about whether they can trust the de facto Democrat nominee. According to an anonymous Harris campaign spokesperson, the Vice President no longer supports a federal job guarantee, which was a policy idea that originated from the far-left in the 1930s.

In 2019, Kamala Harris cosponsored a resolution supporting a federal job guarantee, as reported by the Washington Examiner. This would mean taxpayer dollars would pay anyone who wants to work for the federal government. However, it seems that the Vice President has changed her stance on this policy, sparking doubts about her sincerity and commitment to progressive ideals.

This apparent policy shift is not an isolated incident; it is the fifth time an anonymous Harris campaign aide has claimed that she no longer supports a previously held policy position. The New York Times reported on Monday, citing anonymous campaign officials, that Kamala Harris also now.

1. Supports fracking.

2. Wants to increase funding for border security.

3. Does not want to require people to sell their assault weapons back to the government.

4. No longer supports a single-payer health insurance program.

Neither Kamala Harris nor her campaign aides have yet to publicly address these alleged policy changes, which has left many wondering about her true beliefs and intentions. Before becoming Vice President, Kamala Harris was the District Attorney of San Francisco from January 8, 2004, to January 3, 2011. She then served as a U.S. Senator from January 3, 2017, to January 18, 2021. In 2019, she was considered the most far-left senator, surpassing socialist Bernie Sanders (I-VT), according to GovTrack’s scorecard.

In a Google event in 2010, Kamala Harris stated, “And, yeah, I am radical. I do believe that we need to get radical, about what we are doing, and take it seriously.” Some of her most radical policies include endorsing some form of reparation, cosponsoring legislation to protect illegal immigrants from deportation, backing Bernie Sanders’ Medicare for All legislation, supporting banning private health insurance, giving taxpayer-funded coverage to illegal immigrants, supporting a ban on fracking, and advocating for defunding the police.

This recent shift in policy positions raises questions about Kamala Harris’s commitment to progressive values and her ability to effectively lead as the presumptive Democrat presidential nominee. With no on-the-record statements addressing these policy changes, it remains unclear what exactly her true beliefs are and how she plans to address these concerns moving forward.
