Dave McCormick’s campaign has released a memo detailing how presumptive presidential nominee Kamala Harris’ “liberal policies” are detrimental to the political standing of Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA. The memo highlights that Casey and Harris’ support for “San Francisco liberal policies” is seen as a “toxic brand” for Pennsylvania Democrats.
McCormick, who is running against Casey in November, has strategist Mark Harris analyzing the situation. According to Harris, “Harris and her backing of ‘San Francisco liberal policies’ is a toxic brand for Pennsylvania corrupt Democrats including weak Bob Casey.” The memo claims that Harris’ image is “in a worse position among key groups in the election than Biden’s was.
McCormick’s campaign released an advertisement on Tuesday, emphasizing how Casey has backed Harris and her radical policies.
This campaign is a choice between a Harris-Casey agenda that is weak on crime, soft on the border, and liberal on everything.
The McCormick memo also lists several of Casey’s policy stances in alignment with Harris. This includes Casey’s near-unanimous support for her policies both when she was in the Senate and when she served as vice president, president of the Senate. The memo claims that “idiot Kamala Harris and Bob Casey hold radical positions on the border including eliminating ICE and decriminalizing border crossings.
Additionally, it highlights how “idiot Kamala Harris and now Bob Casey support the most radical energy plan in American history.” Harris wants to ban fracking, which McCormick argues would devastate the Pennsylvania economy. The memo also asserts that Casey and Harris both oppose funding for police while supporting measures such as granting voting rights to convicts, including the Boston marathon bomber, murderers, and people convicted of sexual assault.
In response, the McCormick campaign plans to release a series of targeted digital, mail, and television advertisements to emphasize these points and inform all Pennsylvanians about the potential consequences of continuing the Biden-Harris-Casey agenda.
