Impeachment Call Against VP Kamala Harris: Failing Borders, Public Trust Breach

Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) has introduced articles of impeachment against Vice President Kamala Harris, citing her alleged failure to uphold federal immigration laws as well as breaching the public trust. This comes after Ogles’ accusations that she is committing “high crimes and misdemeanors” related to the ongoing border crisis and mass illegal immigration.

Harris, who was put in charge of handling illegal immigration by President Joe Biden in March 2021, has been accused of refusing to uphold existing immigration laws and showing a “palpable indifference” to the suffering caused by the southern border crisis. The resolution states that she has consistently refused to visit the southern border to evaluate the ongoing national crisis, with the exception of one trip that was hundreds of miles away from the epicenter of the migrant crisis.

Ogles also points out that the border crisis, exacerbated by Harris’s inaction, has had a “disproportionate” negative impact on American women and girls, citing several incidents of rape, attack, and murder at the hands of undocumented immigrants. Furthermore, he claims that December 2023 saw nearly 302,000 illegal alien border encounters – the most ever recorded in a single month.

In addition to failing to uphold federal immigration laws, Ogles accuses Harris of breaching the public trust by allegedly misleading the American public “to obfuscate the physical and cognitive well-being of” President Biden. This second article in the resolution contends that she has violated her duty to protect the citizens of the United States and uphold their trust in the government’s ability to enforce immigration laws and maintain national security.
