Trump Aims to ‘Fire’ Kamala Harris in Upcoming Showdown: Campaign Memo Reveals Confidence Amid Poll Surge

The Trump campaign asserts that former President Donald Trump will prove to the world that he can “fire” Vice President Kamala Harris, similar to how he was perceived to have “fired” President Joe Biden during their debate on June 27. In a memo released by Trump campaign senior advisers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles, they stated that Trump had “thoroughly decimated” Biden during the debate and since then, Biden has been considered “fired” and “turned out to pasture.

On Sunday, Biden officially announced his withdrawal from the presidential election and endorsed Harris as the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee. The Trump campaign memo stated that Trump was now leading Harris in various polls both nationally and in battleground states. A recent HarrisX/Forbes poll conducted between July 19-21 found that Trump was leading Harris by a margin of 52 percent to 42 percent among voters.

The memo continued to argue that the “liberal elite and deep state” had replaced an incumbent president with the incumbent vice president in an attempt to shake up the race, but this may not be beneficial for Democrats as Kamala Harris is viewed as being potentially worse than Joe Biden. The Trump campaign criticized Harris’s handling of the border crisis, which has led to increased crime and child trafficking rates.

Since Biden’s announcement, several prominent Democrats have endorsed Harris, including former President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-PA), Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA. However, the Trump campaign remains confident that Trump’s strong polling performance indicates he can “fire” Kamala Harris just as he did with Joe Biden.
