Michael Cloud Calls for Resignation of US Secret Service Director Amidst Training and Focus Concerns

Rep. Michael Cloud (R-TX), member of the House Oversight Committee, has called for the resignation of U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle following the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump in July. In an interview with Breitbart News Daily, Cloud expressed concern that Cheatle had not stepped down after the incident and questioned her motives for staying in her position.

The congressman highlighted the lack of proper training among agents as a significant issue within the Secret Service, citing a report that indicated agents are only spending about seven and a half percent of their time in training, far below the recommended 25 percent. The detail involved in the assassination attempt allegedly had less than two percent training time, according to the report.

Additionally, Cloud criticized Cheatle’s focus on wokе issues within the Secret Service, such as increasing the number of women on the force and implementing different standards for male and female agents. He warned that these efforts could compromise the effectiveness of the agency and pose a threat to national security.

We’ve got to push back on that,” Cloud said, emphasizing the need for reform within the Secret Service to ensure that it can effectively carry out its mission to protect national leaders.
