After Wednesday night’s speeches at the Republican National Convention, ABC’s The View host Whoopi Goldberg criticized Trump’s granddaughter, 17-year-old Kai Trump’s speech as an attempt to “humanize” Trump. In her July 17 speech, Kai shared her personal experiences with her grandfather, highlighting his role as a loving and caring family member. She described him as a “normal grandpa” who gives his grandchildren “candy and soda” and calls them frequently to check in on their well-being.
Kai’s heartfelt speech about her relationship with Trump seemed to touch the audience, but Goldberg was less than impressed. I don’t know any women — and I know his grandchild was up on the thing and they’re trying to humanize him and change your idea about who this guy is,” she said, urging viewers not to “fall for that.
Whoopi Goldberg has been a strong supporter of Joe Biden in the past, even going so far as to say she would vote for him if he was seen “pooping his pants.” Despite her support for Biden, she also stated that she would be willing to support a replacement candidate should Biden decide to step aside and halt his campaign for a second term. However, Goldberg added that she would prefer to wait and see how Biden performs in a second presidential debate before making any decisions about who to support.
