Trump’s Vow to Save Democracy: Reigniting World Peace and Revitalizing the US Economy

Former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump addressed the Republican National Convention held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he accepted the nomination for president. In his speech, he emphasized that he is saving democracy by preventing criminalization of dissent and discouraging demonization of political disagreement. He also expressed the importance of putting an end to partisan witch hunts.

Trump vowed to restore peace and harmony throughout the world if re-elected as president. He stressed the need to rescue the nation from the “failed and even incompetent leadership” of the current administration, which he claims has turned a world at peace into a planet of war. Trump also claimed that he had kept the country safe by not starting any new wars during his presidency, except for combating ISIS.

The former president stated that while he was in office, Tehran was ready to make a deal with the US regarding the Iran nuclear issue. However, he expressed concern that Iran is now close to having a nuclear weapon, which would have never occurred under his administration. Trump also believes that the US can improve relations with North Korea if he returns to the White House and has a good relationship with leader Kim Jong Un.

Regarding the economy, Trump highlighted that during his presidency, the US economy was stronger than China’s. He assured that this growth would be even better if he is re-elected. Additionally, Trump plans to ensure US dominance in the energy field, stating that the country “will be energy dominant and supply not only ourselves but we will supply the rest of the world.

The Republican presidential candidate also vowed to start paying off the country’s national debt and lower taxes if re-elected. He intends to end the inflation crisis immediately, bring down interest rates, and lower the cost of energy. Trump further promised that the government would redirect wasteful spending towards important projects such as roads, bridges, and dams, instead of supporting the Green New Deal.

Trump recounted a recent assassination attempt on his life at an election rally in Pennsylvania. He mentioned that a bullet grazed his ear and that he was lucky not to have turned further to the right or face death. The attacker, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed by Secret Service officers, with the motives of the perpetrator still unknown.
