Voices for the Voiceless: Victims’ Rights Advocate Criticizes Soft-on-Crime Policies at RNC

Madeline Brame, an advocate for victims’ rights, made a heartfelt speech at the Republican National Convention (RNC) on Tuesday night, criticizing both the Democrat Party and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg for their “soft-on-crime” policies. Brame’s son, Sgt. Hason Correa – a veteran of the Afghanistan war – was tragically killed after he was “fatally beaten and stabbed by a group of four people during a scuffle outside” an apartment building in Harlem, New York City, according to the New York Post.

Brame told the RNC audience, “My son, Sgt. Hason Correa, an Afghanistan war retired veteran, he received enemy fire from the Taliban only to be murdered with a knife on the streets of New York City.” She went on to say that those responsible for her son’s death had been “facing justice” prior to Bragg being elected, but after his election, two of the homicidal maniacs allegedly had their charges dismissed.

One of them received 14 months time served after being charged with assault with a shoe by Alvin Bragg. Another one was sentenced to seven years in prison, leading Madeline Brame to discover that District Attorney Bragg often dismisses and reduces dangerous criminals’ charges.

Brame expressed her desire not to see others experience the “senseless pain” she endured, which is why she decided to use the voice God gave her as the “voice for the voiceless across America.” She urged for justice for victims and accountability for prosecutors who fail in their duties. Brame criticized District Attorneys like Alvin Bragg, Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, and Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon, accusing them of turning cities into “war zones” due to their soft-on-crime approach.

During a crime hearing in April 2023, several Democrats claimed that several witnesses in the hearing were being used as part of a political stunt by Republicans. Madeline Brame was one of the crime victims in that hearing.
