Secret Service’s Focus: A Shift from Protection to DEI

The U.S. Secret Service’s focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) is more prominent than its mission, according to Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS. He made these remarks during a sit-down interview with Breitbart News Washington Bureau Chief Matthew Boyle at the Republican National Convention on Thursday.

Sen. Marshall shared his conversation with former President Donald Trump following the failed assassination attempt. He emphasized that God was protecting Trump during the incident and mentioned that Trump should have been assassinated, but God spared him. He also discussed the investigation into the assassination attempt and how members of Congress tried to chase down Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle after spotting her at the convention.

The senator pointed out that the failed assassination attempt on Trump still resulted in casualties, including Corey Comperatore, who was protecting his family. He stressed that the incident was a massive failure and that it highlighted issues within the Secret Service’s culture. Sen. Marshall mentioned that the Secret Service is more focused on DEI than its mission, which he believes will be demonstrated during the investigation into the assassination attempt.

Sen. Marshall expressed his thoughts on attempted assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks not fitting the typical psychological profile and discussed the lack of forthcoming information from the Secret Service regarding motives or evidence. He also mentioned the mistrust between the DHS, which now includes the Secret Service, and its senior superiors. Sen. Marshall acknowledged that the rank-and-file secret service members are great people doing their jobs but highlighted issues with the plan and culture within the organization.
