Rubio Blames Secret Service Leadership for Trump Assassination Attempt, Calls for Transparency and Accountability

At the Republican National Convention, Senator Marco Rubio discussed his experience watching Donald Trump be struck by an assassin’s bullet during an exclusive interview with Breitbart News. He expressed concerns about the Secret Service’s response to the event and criticized their leadership for covering up its failures in allowing the assassination attempt to occur. Rubio, who serves on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, emphasized that local law enforcement cannot be blamed for the incident, as it was ultimately the responsibility of the Secret Service to ensure the President’s safety during an open rally.

The Florida Senator reflected on the potential consequences if Trump had been lethally struck, describing a sense of relief upon realizing he was unharmed. He attributed this outcome to divine intervention, stating that he believed it was “the hand of God” that saved Trump’s life. Rubio also criticized Secret Service leadership for attempting to shift blame onto local law enforcement and accused them of trying to cover up their failure to protect the President.

During his conversation with Breitbart News, Rubio highlighted the importance of the Secret Service’s mission in preventing political assassinations and expressed disappointment in their handling of the situation. He urged for greater transparency from the agency regarding its investigation into the incident and stressed the need for accountability among those responsible for the President’s safety during public events.
