Elusive Shooting: FBI Baffled as Motive for Attack on Trump Campaign Rally Remains Unclear

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has been unable to determine what motivated a 20-year-old man to shoot at US presidential candidate Donald Trump during a campaign rally on Saturday, according to Associated Press (AP. Following the assassination attempt, the FBI conducted an extensive search over three days. They cracked into Thomas Matthew Crooks’ mobile phone, examined his computer, home and car, and interviewed over 100 people. However, the motive remains as “elusive” as the moment the shooting occurred.

The FBI has reportedly not discovered any connection to the Biden administration or a possible motive. It is well known that the FBI provides significant cover for the current administration, which controls it. An anonymous law enforcement official informed AP about the lack of meaningful clues in Crooks’ phone regarding his motives.

Crooks’ high school classmates described him as an “intelligent” but “eccentric” young man who was frequently bullied for wearing hunting outfits and continuing to wear a mask even after the COVID-19 pandemic had ended. He reportedly did not talk to anyone.

No suicide note, writings or social media posts have been discovered that could explain Crooks’ reasons for targeting Trump, as per AP’s report.

Crooks was allegedly a member of a local shooting club for at least a year. The day before the shooting, he went to a rifle range to practice, according to a federal intelligence briefing cited by AP.

Armed with a semi-automatic AR-15 rifle, Crooks fired at Donald Trump’s campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday from a nearby building’s rooftop. A bystander was shot and killed, while a bullet grazed Trump’s ear. Two other individuals were severely injured. Crooks was fatally shot in the head by a Secret Service counter-sniper.
