Ramaswamy Eyes Senate Appointment, Talks with Trump

Milwaukee, Wisconsin — Former 2024 Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy exclusively shared with Breitbart News his desire to have a conversation with former President Donald Trump about how he can best serve the nation. Ramaswamy expressed interest in potentially accepting an appointment to the U.S. Senate, should the Trump-Vance ticket win in November.

Ramaswamy’s statements came during a press gaggle outside the Pfizer Forum while the Republican National Convention was taking place. He invited Breitbart News to join him on his golf cart as he navigated the streets of downtown Milwaukee. When asked if he would consider accepting an appointment to fill Sen. J.D. Vance’s seat, Ramaswamy said that he would “consider it,” despite not having given the matter much thought.

Ramaswamy emphasized his passion for eradicating the administrative state and shared his vision of “gutting…the managerial bureaucracy in the federal government.” He expressed a desire to have a discussion with Trump about how he can best serve the nation, focusing on shutting down the administrative state.

The former presidential candidate also acknowledged that the Vance-Trump ticket could leave a significant vacuum in the Senate should they win, as Vance would vacate his seat to become Vice President. Ramaswamy stated that if given the opportunity to fill this gap, he would “consider it” out of a sense of obligation to the country.
