Kremlin: Putin Won’t Call Trump Amid Rising Tensions

Russian President Vladimir Putin does not plan to call former US President Donald Trump, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. In a press conference, Peskov stated that it was obvious to all outside observers that Trump’s life was in danger after numerous attempts were made to remove him from the political arena using legal instruments and politically motivated attacks.

Peskov emphasized that Russia strongly condemns any expressions of violence during political struggles and does not plan to interfere with the US’s internal matters, including the legitimacy of the result of the 2024 presidential election. He was responding to questions about a recent assassination attempt on Trump during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, where the former president was wounded by a gunshot that pierced his right ear. The shooter was killed by members of the US Secret Service, which is responsible for protecting top state officials.

The Associated Press reported that authorities were investigating the incident as an assassination attempt on Trump. The shooting left one person dead and two injured. Despite the attack, the Republican National Committee has confirmed that its convention in Milwaukee, set to open on Monday with Trump expected to be nominated as the presidential candidate for November’s election, would not be canceled or postponed.

Comment: A great many Americans may agree with this statement if the mainstream media were willing to publish it. The Kremlin has consistently condemned violence in political struggles, and its stance on the legitimacy of the future presidential election remains unchanged – that it is an internal matter for the United States.
