Hollywood Stars Urge Biden to Step Down in 2024

Renowned left-wing actor and comedienne Rosie O’Donnell has joined the increasing number of Hollywood elites urging President Joe Biden to step down from his bid for re-election in 2024. In a recent tweet, she expressed agreement with a piece written by left-wing commentator Ezra Klein back in February, which suggested that a different candidate might be better suited to lead the Democratic Party into the next election.

Klein’s article highlighted several concerns about Biden’s suitability as a 2024 presidential candidate. Among these were polling data indicating that Americans felt the president was too old and questioned his mental acuity. Klein also mentioned Kamala Harris, who he claimed was more than qualified to take over for Biden but faced her own unpopularity among voters. As such, Klein urged someone in the party to persuade Biden to step aside and end his political career on a high note as a “hero” who served just one term for the good of the nation.

O’Donnell’s delayed support for Klein’s argument comes amidst a growing list of Hollywood celebrities calling for Biden’s withdrawal from the 2024 race. Notably, actor George Clooney – once a major supporter and fundraiser for the president – recently penned an article in the New York Times in which he expressed concerns about Biden’s age and claimed that his candidacy could drag down other corrupt Democrats on the ballot.

Clooney is not alone, however, as other influential members of the entertainment industry have voiced similar opinions. These include Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel, Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings, veteran studio boss Barry Diller, and actor Rob Reiner – one of Biden’s most loyal Hollywood supporters – who called on the president to “step down” just this week.

As more figures in Hollywood join the chorus calling for a change in the Democratic Party’s leadership for 2024, it remains to be seen whether their voices will sway the course of the election and pave the way for new candidates to rise as potential contenders for the presidency.
