Russian Diplomat Blasts NATO: ‘Irreversible Path’ Leads to Cliff’s Edge

Moscow, July 12 – Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova criticized the recent NATO summit, stating that it promised an “irreversible path” for Ukraine but not membership into the alliance. The diplomat remarked that this supposed path actually resembles a dangerous route to the edge of a cliff.

During a briefing, Zakharova questioned the nature of this irreversible path to the alliance and highlighted how the Kiev regime was eventually promised this “irreversible” journey towards NATO membership. However, she pointed out that it appears more like a game played with the remains of Ukraine rather than for Ukraine’s benefit.

The summit decision on Ukraine’s membership aims to motivate Ukrainians to continue fighting in their ongoing conflict, according to Zakharova. The most recent NATO summit was held in Washington, D.C., from June 9-11 with a primary focus on countering Russia and providing military assistance to Ukraine.

In its final declaration, the summit emphasized that China should cease providing material and political support for Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine. Additionally, it urged China to stop exporting dual-use goods to Russia.
