The increasing concern over President Joe Biden’s declining mental and physical health has been a topic of discussion among many political figures, including Republican Representative Chip Roy of Texas. During an appearance on Breitbart News Daily, Rep. Roy discussed the chatter in Washington, DC surrounding the president’s well-being, particularly following his first 2024 presidential debate against former President Donald Trump.
According to Rep. Roy, the apparent decline in Biden’s health is not something anyone would want to witness, especially for someone holding the most significant position in the world – that of the leader of the free world. Despite having strong disagreements with the president politically, Roy expressed concern over the visible deterioration in Biden’s mental and physical state, highlighting instances such as his wandering off at G7 summits, struggling to maintain coherence during interviews, and his difficulty in putting together a sentence while defending his competence.
In response to this observed decline, Rep. Roy filed a resolution calling on Vice President Kamala Harris to invoke the Twenty-Fifth Amendment, which outlines the procedures for replacing a president who is unable to perform their duties due to physical or mental incapacitation. This move was announced by Roy on June 28, and in his statement at that time, he expressed concern over Biden’s ability to effectively discharge the duties and powers of his office.
