Biden’s Detailed Event Guidance: From Fundraisers to Summits

The staffers working under President Joe Biden are known for providing detailed instructions to him on how to navigate events and venues, as reported by Axios on Sunday. This report comes amid questions about his fitness for office after a disappointing debate performance last month against former President Donald Trump. According to the documents obtained, the president is given specific guidance regarding his path to the podium at events he attends.

A staffer who had previously worked an event with Biden shared their surprise at the level of detail provided to the president for moving around a venue. They recalled how even a simple fundraiser was treated like a major summit in terms of planning and execution. The White House has a template they provide to event staffers to ensure proper guidance is prepared for President Biden, which includes large photos of the venue and clear instructions on the path he should follow.

While some may view these detailed instructions as unusual, a White House spokesperson downplayed the situation by emphasizing that high levels of detail are necessary when preparing for presidential events regardless of who occupies the office. The spokesperson noted that this level of preparation is commonplace not only for the president but also for other officials such as Vice President Kamala Harris and agency heads.

The revelation comes on the same day that multiple senior House Democrats reportedly urged Biden to end his re-election bid during a private call with Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY. Despite these concerns, the president remains committed to continuing his campaign for the presidency in 2024.
