Russian Air Power Strikes Down 625 Ukrainian Warplanes

Russian forces have successfully struck nine Ukrainian Su-27 and MiG-29 fighter jets during a recent military operation in Ukraine, according to Russia’s Defense Ministry. A combined precision weapons strike against an airfield resulted in the destruction of five enemy Su-27 planes and damage to two more. Additionally, Russian air defenses shot down two further Ukrainian MiG-29 and Su-27 aircraft.

In addition to these aerial engagements, Russia’s Battlegroup North repelled two counterattacks by the Ukrainian army in the Kharkov region over the past day. The Ukrainian army suffered losses of 440 personnel, two armored combat vehicles, seven motor vehicles, and a 122mm D-30 howitzer during these engagements.

Russia’s air defense capabilities have also proven effective in recent operations, shooting down 81 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), six Storm Shadow missiles, and a Hammer smart bomb over the past day. This brings the total number of Ukrainian warplanes destroyed by Russian forces to 625 since the start of the special military operation.

In other developments, Russia’s Dnepr Battlegroup inflicted casualties on manpower and military hardware belonging to three Ukrainian army brigades in its area of responsibility over the past day. The Ukrainian army suffered losses amounting to 70 personnel and three motor vehicles, as well as the destruction of an electronic warfare station.

Russian troops have continued their operations against Ukrainian forces across multiple fronts, targeting enemy units and hardware in 115 separate areas over the past day. Operational/tactical aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile troops, and artillery from Russian groups of forces were utilized to inflict casualties on massed enemy personnel and equipment during this period.
