The Kremlin’s “False Flag” Theory Crimean Beach Attack Exposes Russian Fault Lines

Russian Authorities Report Six Deaths and Over 100 Wounded Following Ukrainian Drone and Missile Attacks.

On Sunday, Russian authorities reported that six people had died and over 100 were wounded in drone and missile attacks launched by Ukraine. The aerial bombing of Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine on its second day resulted in the death of at least one individual. Among those killed were five individuals, including two children, who were hit by debris from Ukrainian missiles that had been shot down over a coastal area in Sevastopol, a port city situated in Russia-annexed Crimea. The incident was reported by Mikhail Razvozhayev, the city’s Moscow-installed governor. Another person lost their life in Grayvoron City in Russia’s Belgorod region, which borders Ukraine; this information was provided by regional Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.

Russian state news agency RIA Novosti cited the Health Ministry as stating that 124 people were wounded in Sevastopol due to falling rocket fragments. These fragments also caused a forest fire covering more than 150 square meters (1,600 square feet) and set a residential building ablaze. RIA Novosti noted that a fifth missile had exploded over the city.

Russia’s Defense Ministry placed the responsibility for the deliberate missile strike on civilians on both Ukraine and the United States. It claimed that U.S.-supplied ATACMS missiles were utilized in the Ukrainian attack. Following the incident, Razvozhayev declared Monday a day of mourning in Sevastopol, with public events canceled.

Overnight, air defenses successfully shot down 33 Ukrainian drones across Russia’s western Bryansk, Smolensk, Lipetsk, and Tula regions, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense on Sunday. No casualties or damage were reported in these incidents.

On Sunday, Kharkiv experienced a fresh attack that resulted in the death of at least one person and wounded 11 others, as per local officials. Mayor Ihor Terekhov stated that the city was attacked by a guided bomb, with around half of Kharkiv left without electricity due to the strike. The attacks followed Russia’s targeting of Kharkiv on Saturday afternoon with four aerial bombs, hitting a five-story residential building and killing three people. Regional Governor Oleh Syniehubov reported that 41 individuals were still being treated for injuries on Sunday as a result of this attack.

In response to the attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged Ukraine’s partners to strengthen its air defenses in a video address. Modern air defense systems for Ukraine – such as Patriots, accelerated training of our pilots for F-16s, and most importantly, sufficient range for our weapons – are truly necessary,” he stated.

Falling debris from two Russian missiles shot down over the Kyiv region overnight resulted in the injury of two people, as reported by Ukraine’s air force commander Mykola Oleschuk.

Regional Governor Vadym Filashkin of Ukraine’s partly occupied Donetsk region stated that Russian attacks on Saturday killed two people and wounded four others.

In other developments, the Ukrainian Navy released photos on Sunday that they claim confirm the destruction of a warehouse in Russia’s southern Krasnodar region used to launch and store Iranian-designed Shahed drones. According to navy officials, training instructors and cadets were killed during the attack on Friday night. Moscow has not yet commented on the reports; however, officials stated that air defenses shot down a number of drones in the region overnight on Friday.
