Sensitive subjects’ in White House statements on immigrant killings

The White House is facing criticism for its statements regarding the deaths of two women – Rachel Morin, a mother of five from Maryland, and Jocelyn Nungaray, a young girl from Texas, who were allegedly murdered by illegal aliens. Fox News reported on Saturday that the recent statements made by the White House were short and failed to comment on active police investigations into the two deaths.

The first statement expressed condolences for Rachel Morin’s family and acknowledged that they couldn’t comment on active law enforcement cases but believed people should be held accountable if found guilty. The second statement offered similar condolences for Jocelyn Nungaray’s family, stating that anyone guilty of heinous crimes like murder should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.

These statements have been heavily criticized by Republicans who argue that President Joe Biden and his administration must take responsibility for their disastrous border policies. One such critic was Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), who tweeted, “Shameful. Innocent people murdered by illegal immigrants and the @WhiteHouse still REFUSES to accept responsibility.

Morin’s family has stated that they were deeply touched by former President Donald Trump’s call to offer his condolences after Morin was raped and murdered, with her body dumped on the side of a trail in Maryland. The suspect in Morin’s case, 23-year-old Victor Martinez-Hernandez from El Salvador, was arrested in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

In a separate incident, two illegal aliens are accused of murdering 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray in Houston, Texas. Reports suggest that the two men were released into the United States by Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) after crossing the southern border, according to Breitbart News.

As a result of these incidents and the White House’s statements, many politicians and commentators have expressed their frustration and anger at the current administration’s handling of border security and immigration issues. Wesley Hunt (R-TX), for example, shared his sadness over Nungaray’s death in a social media post, stating that “when a nation welcomes illegal mass migration it invites mass murder and we’re witnessing the destruction every single day.” He urged people to vote in November as if their children’s lives were at stake because “they are.
