Exclusive–‘Political Malfeasance’: Hovde Chides Baldwin on Biden Tie

In an interview with Breitbart News Saturday, Wisconsin Republican U.S. Senate candidate and businessman Eric Hovde criticized his opponent, Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), for her close association with President Joe Biden. Hovde claims that it is “political malfeasance” for Baldwin to attach herself to the low approval ratings of the president, considering issues such as inflation and open border policies.

Hovde was asked about his thoughts on Baldwin’s connection with Biden in reference to a Washington Post article from May, which stated that Baldwin was using her popularity with voters to generate excitement for the president. In response, Hovde stated, “I think it’s political malfeasance, but that tells you she’s in her bubble.” He went on to explain that this is one of the dangers in politics, where politicians can become too focused on their own perspectives and lose touch with the greater public.

The businessman added that anyone affected by inflation, open border policies, and the fentanyl crisis can attribute these issues directly to President Biden and Senator Baldwin, as she supports him on all these matters. He described Baldwin as a “backbencher” who is not well-known among the public and often votes alongside other Democratic Senators such as Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Bernie Sanders (I-VT.

Eric Hovde was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After graduation, he founded his first business and went on to create several others, including the Hovde Foundation. During his campaign, Hovde focuses on discussing economic issues with voters and explaining the cause of inflation. He aims to educate people about quantitative easing, the role of the Federal Reserve, and how it contributes to inflation.

Hovde’s campaign strategy is to engage with voters directly through social media and his “Just the facts” initiative, where he talks about economic issues such as health care, debt, and real estate development. He believes that many politicians in Washington lack a strong understanding of economic matters and has made it a point to educate people on these issues during his campaign.
