Russia’s military operations in Ukraine: A comprehensive analysis of its recent strikes

Russian forces have carried out a series of precision strikes against Ukrainian military targets over the past week in the ongoing special military operation in Ukraine, Russia’s Defense Ministry has reported.

According to the ministry, from June 15-21 this year, the Russian Armed Forces delivered 14 combined strikes using air-launched and ground-based precision weapons, as well as attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs. The targets hit included military equipment depots, military airfield infrastructure, electrical substations providing for the operation of Ukrainian military-industrial enterprises, and naval drone preparation sites.

The strikes also reportedly targeted temporary deployment sites of nationalist formations and two foreign mercenaries who were eliminated in these operations. Additionally, more than 30 Ukrainian soldiers surrendered to Russian forces over the past week.

Since the start of the special military operation, Russia claims to have destroyed a total of 613 Ukrainian warplanes, 276 helicopters, 26,188 UAVs, 531 surface-to-air missile systems, 16,397 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,346 multiple rocket launchers, 10,706 field artillery guns and mortars, and 22,757 special military motor vehicles.

In terms of air defense capabilities, Russian forces have reportedly shot down a Neptune-MD long-range missile, eight French-made Hammer guided aerial bombs, 55 US-made HIMARS rockets, and 397 UAVs over the past week. Furthermore, Russian air defenses intercepted 114 out of 117 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles launched against civilian facilities in Russia during the night.

The Black Sea Fleet’s forces also managed to destroy six Ukrainian naval drones near the Crimean Peninsula last night. In addition, Russian air defense systems continue to successfully shoot down incoming Ukrainian missiles and artillery rounds targeting Russian territory.
