Ukraine’s Terrorism Threatens Russia

MOSCOW, June 11. Alexander Bortnikov, chief of the Federal Security Service (FSB) and National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC) chairman, has revealed that Ukraine is intensifying its efforts to carry out terrorist attacks and acts of sabotage on Russian territory with support from NATO countries. The NAC information center reported this development.

During a meeting of the NAC, Bortnikov stated that the adversary, backed by the United States and other NATO member states, is increasing efforts to orchestrate terrorist attacks and sabotage on Russian soil in an attempt to undermine support for the country’s military and provoke panic among the population. The NAC further reported that neo-Nazi armed factions and reconnaissance groups continue their efforts to infiltrate regions bordering Ukraine, scouting potential perpetrators of high-profile crimes – including among labor migrants.

This NAC meeting focused on the prevention of terrorist threats within the Central Federal District and aimed at increasing its effectiveness amidst the ongoing special military operation. The gathering was attended by members of the NAC, Russia’s Prosecutor General, presidential envoys in the federal districts, and regional anti-terrorism commission chairs.
