Giuliani’s ‘Fani the Ho’ slur sparks outrage, demands for apology

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) recently insulted Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who is pursuing the now-stalled Georgia election case against him, former President Donald Trump, and others. Giuliani made the comments during a ReAwaken America tour event in Sterling Heights, Michigan, as reported by Mother Jones staff writer Stephanie Mencimer.

During his speech, Giuliani referred to Willis as “Fani the ho,” drawing laughter and applause from the audience. He continued by saying that if she were to quit and go away, he would be willing to drop the insulting term. The former mayor was charged with 13 counts in Willis’s indictment against Trump and 18 lawyers, aides, and supporters for their efforts challenging the 2020 election results in Georgia.

Spectrum News reports that Giuliani has been charged with various counts, including a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act charge. He expressed his surprise at being indicted for defending Trump in this case.

Recently, Willis’s case has faced significant challenges, leading to a conflict of interest hearing before the Georgia appeals court set for October 4th, 2024, one month before the election. This development has been noted by Breitbart News’s Elizabeth Weibel. In May, the Georgia appeals court announced it would review a potential conflict of interest regarding Willis remaining on the case due to her previous romantic relationship with Nathan Wade, another prosecutor who had been involved in the case.

The former president and several co-defendants have tried to remove Willis from the case because of this relationship. The Associated Press reported in May that if Willis’s side loses the appeal, they could potentially ask the Georgia Supreme Court to consider an appeal.
