Bidenomics is no joke’: Trump backers blast Cheesecake prices under Biden

Pro-Trump MAGA Inc. Super PAC Takes Aim at Bidenomics and Rising Food Prices.

The pro-Trump super PAC, MAGA Inc., recently highlighted the issue of increased food prices in restaurants under President Joe Biden’s administration, referring to this phenomenon as “Bidenomics.” In a press release, the super PAC referenced a viral parody post featuring former President Donald Trump criticizing menu items and prices at a Cheesecake Factory.

MAGA Inc.’s spokesman, Alex Pfeiffer, acknowledged that while the original viral post was a parody, the significant rise in food prices is no laughing matter. The press release provided a comparison of menu item prices from December 2020, when Trump was still in office, to current prices at the Cheesecake Factory.

For instance, an original cheesecake at the restaurant chain cost around $6.95 in December 2020 and now stands at roughly $10.50, representing a 51.1% increase. The cost of an eggroll sampler increased by 50.2%, from approximately $11.95 to $17.95.

The Smokehouse B.B.Q. Burger, priced at roughly $13.95 in December 2020, now costs around $18.50, a 32.6% increase. A warm crab dip that was priced at $11.95 in December 2020 is now available for about $14.50, a 21.3% increase.

In April, the Food Institute reported that fast-food chains such as Chipotle, Popeyes, and Taco Bell had raised their food product prices by at least 75% due to inflation. McDonald’s was reported to have “doubled” its prices since 2014, with a Big Mac burger meal costing around $18 today compared to $10 in 2018.

With states like California increasing their minimum wage to as much as $20 an hour, fast-food and restaurant chains have been forced to raise their prices. Chick-fil-A reported a 10.6% price increase between February and April, while Starbucks raised its prices by about 7.8%, and Shake Shack increased the prices of items by 7.7%, according to Gordon Hasket Research Advisors.

Biden has continued to claim that inflation was at nine percent when he entered office in January 2021, but recent polls suggest that his administration is not meeting the needs of many Americans. A Financial Times/Michigan Ross poll revealed that 51% of voters believe their financial situation has worsened under the Biden administration, while only 28% report an improvement in their financial status.
