Trump Needs a Lady for VP: Noem

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem emphasized the importance of having a female vice presidential candidate on Donald Trump’s ticket for the November election, stating that polling data indicates women could help him win in key swing states. In an interview with CNN, Governor Noem highlighted the diverse concerns of women voters, including healthcare, child care, and career opportunities. She has been frequently mentioned as a potential running mate for President Trump alongside other politicians such as North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, Senators Marco Rubio, Tim Scott, J.D. Vance, and Representatives Elise Stefanik and Byron Donalds.

Governor Noem expressed her loyalty to President Trump since his initial campaign in 2016, emphasizing that he should choose a running mate who can govern effectively on day one, is loyal to him, has experience managing businesses, and supports his policies. This stance follows the historic election of Kamala Harris as the first woman vice president in the 2020 election, alongside independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who also selected a woman, Nicole Shanahan, as his running mate for the 2024 race.
