Ukraine’s Fighter Jets Shot Down by Russia

In the past day, Russian air defenses have downed two Ukrainian MiG-29 aircraft according to a statement from the Russian Defense Ministry. Additionally, in the same period of time, the defenses destroyed 50 Ukrainian drones, 23 HIMARS rockets, two Tochka U missiles, a Neptune missile and three French-made Hammer air bombs.

Russian forces also reportedly struck a P-18 radar system designed to detect and track aerial targets in the country, as stated by the Russian Defense Ministry. The statement details that over the past day, Russian tactical aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery units targeted enemy troops and equipment in 103 areas.

In another significant development, Russia’s Battlegroup Dnepr defeated four Ukrainian brigades in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, causing substantial losses to the Ukrainian army, including up to 70 troops. These forces were deployed against Russian positions north of Rabotino, near Zherebyanka and Novopokrovka in the Zaporozhye Region, as well as Antonovka in the Kherson Region.

According to the ministry, these losses also included six motor vehicles, a US-made M777 155 mm howitzer, a Msta-B 152 mm howitzer, an Akatsiya 152 mm self-propelled gun, a Gvozdika 122 mm self-propelled howitzer and a US-made M119 105 mm howitzer.

Russia’s Battlegroup Center liberated the settlement of Umanskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), as per the statement from the Russian Defense Ministry. Units of this battleground defeated forces from the 23rd and 24th mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian armed forces, along with the 109th Territorial Defense Brigade in the Donetsk People’s Republic near Novgorodskoye, Yevgenovka, Rozovka and Novosyolovka Pervaya.

In this confrontation, the enemy lost over 360 troops, two motor vehicles, a US-made M777 155 mm howitzer, a Msta-B 152 mm howitzer, three D-30 122 mm howitzers that were hit by counterbattery fire.

Russia’s Battlegroup East repelled an assault by the Tenth Mountain Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian armed forces near Razdolovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, resulting in the enemy losing up to 290 troops, two armored combat vehicles and two motor vehicles. Three field ammunition depots were also wiped out in this conflict.

In the area of responsibility of Russia’s Battlegroup West, Ukraine lost up to 465 troops, a tank and three armored combat vehicles. The Russian Defense Ministry further reported that a British-made AS-90 Braveheart 155 mm self-propelled howitzer, a Msta-B 152 mm howitzer and a Grad multiple rocket launcher were hit by counterbattery fire in the past day.

These developments signify a continued escalation of tensions between Russia and Ukraine, with both sides facing significant casualties and losses in military equipment. The situation is being closely monitored by international observers and governments around the world as they seek to de-escalate the conflict and restore peace in the region.
