Nicki Freed From Jail, Mancunians Heartbroken

Renowned Grammy-winning rapper Nicki Minaj was released from police custody hours after being detained at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport for allegedly “carrying drugs” on Saturday. The Dutch Police reported the arrest of a 41-year-old American woman, who was later identified as Minaj, and noted that she had been fined and could continue her journey.

The unexpected incident resulted in the cancellation of Minaj’s scheduled performance in Manchester, England. Her live footage on Instagram captured the moment when an Amsterdam police officer detained the artist upon her arrival at the airport. At the time, she was en route to the next stop of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour. The video demonstrated her interaction with the officer as he attempted to get her into the police van.

Minaj appeared resistant to entering the vehicle and denied possession of drugs, as shown in the video. She stated, “I’m not carrying drugs … I’m not going in there. I need a lawyer present now.

The 41-year-old rapper continued to refuse entry into the police vehicle until she had secured legal representation. She also demanded the address of the police precinct, expressing her uncertainty about where she would be taken.

We’ll get you to your show,” the officer reassured her.

You’re talking about my show? What about it?” she inquired in response.

The footage depicted Minaj ultimately getting into the police van. A separate video showed her inside the vehicle while conversing with a man about the incident and searching her bags. She questioned, “Why didn’t you guys search it before they went on the plane?” She also mentioned that “this is how they plant things on your luggage.

As fans began to line up for Minaj’s show at the Manchester Co-op Live arena, Live Nation UK announced her concert was “postponed.” The promoters explained in a statement that “despite Nicki’s best efforts to explore every possible avenue to make tonight’s show happen, the events of today have made it impossible.

Tickets to her show will remain valid and her performance will be rescheduled, as per the concert promoters.
