Lara Trump’s new state targets could get even bigger than Virginia and Minnesota

Burlingame, California – At the recent California GOP Spring Training event, Republican National Committee Co-Chair Lara Trump discussed the potential expansion of her father-in-law’s presidential campaign map for 2024.

She hinted that the former President Donald J.

Trump’s campaign may be looking to invest more resources in additional states such as Minnesota and Virginia.

During a banquet on May 18, Ms.

Trump mentioned that the campaign is considering expanding its efforts into these new states while keeping an eye on others not yet announced.

These comments come after President Trump expressed his intention to flip traditionally Democratic strongholds: Minnesota, at a fundraising dinner in St.

Paul on May 17.

Additionally, Chris LaCivita, a spokesman for the Trump campaign, confirmed that Virginia is also being considered as a potential investment area during an event in Florida on May 4th.

The optimism expressed by Lara Trump comes amidst discussions with Howard Hakes, an active Republican within the state.

Ms.

Trump emphasized there was “no daylight” between the RNC, now led by herself and Michael Whatley (former North Carolina GOP Chair), and President Trump’s re-election campaign.

As Co-Chair, Lara Trump succeeded Drew McKissick – Chairman of the South Carolina Republican Party – in March 2024, with Michael Whatley taking over from Ronna Romney McDaniel (Romney’s niece) who had been RNC Chair since her election in 2017, following strong backing from then newly-elected President Trump.

This event marked the most active part of a training weekend at the Hyatt Regency in Burlingame, California – located near San Francisco and concluding on May 19th.

Election integrity emerged as a key theme during the weekend, with Harmeet Dhillon (RNC’s National Committeewoman for California) outlining numerous legal battles that Republicans are currently involved in over perceived issues regarding election laws and practices.

Lara Trump also touched on this topic, stating that “the bulk of the staff” at RNC headquarters were focused on addressing election integrity concerns.

The GOP’s goal is to assemble a team of 100,000 election integrity volunteers by November 5th, aiming to prevent a repeat of the disputed 2020 presidential election results.
